We’re delighted to announce that Abtran has been named ‘Multinational of the Year’ at this year’s it@cork Leaders Awards. Now in its 11th year, this year’s event saw the coming together of 300 professionals across the Cork business, education and global multinational community to celebrate technology innovation, leadership and achievement in 2017.

Our proud CEO, Pat Ryan who attended the event last Friday evening had the following to say:

We’re delighted and humbled to receive this prestigious award which is a real testament to the hard work, commitment and leadership of our technology teams here in Ireland and at our Global Services Centre in India.

While Abtran has served clients from the UK and US from our operations in Ireland since 1997, it was only last year that Abtran officially became a multinational company with the establishment of Abtran India PVT Limited.

Since 1997, we’ve steadily grown employment in Cork city and county and now employ close to 2,000 in Cork alone. In 2014 we established our Dublin site and now have close to 150 people based in and around Dublin on site and on clients’ sites.

One of the cornerstones of our success and future growth plans is about making it easy for our people to learn, innovate and share know-how to deliver a great customer experience. This is about giving our teams the applications, knowledge and tools to access the data they need without having to switch forth and back across multiple systems. The development of Abtran’s ‘MyServicePlatform’ brings together a series of services and engagement tools, which also provides the customer with an easy and seamless way to connect with any of our brands and their services.

We have also used this model internally and adopted a ‘Digital everywhere’ approach. For instance, we’ve made it easier for our staff to complete their day to day tasks by introducing the ‘MyAbtran’ App and have invested in our data analytics function to deliver ‘MyPerformance’ dashboards.

As we continue to grow and scale as an international business, technology continues to be at the forefront of the way we empower our people to learn and stay open to new ways of improving and up-skilling. Here, for instance we’re training all 2000 staff in Lean Six Sigma and have just introduced MyLearning, our new Learning Management System (LMS).

Finally, I’d like to say that it@cork Leaders awards provides a tremendous platform for showcasing talent, innovation and enterprise right across the Cork tech community. We are absolutely delighted to receive this award and would like to extend our congratulations to all our fellow winners and nominees.

Thank agains to our CIO, Aisling Deasy and our technology teams in Ireland and Abtran India. This award is both a testament and recognition of your hard work, innovation and leadership in today’s fast-moving tech space.
